Florida Med Student, Emmanuel Espinoza Confessed Stabbing His Mom Multiple Times for “Getting On His Nerves”
Emmanuel Espinoza is a 21-year-old student from the University of Florida who is currently in police custody. The Florida pre-med student drove to Polk County, his mother’s house and stabbed her to death, reported WCJB.
Thus, on Saturday, the 21-year-old student was charged with “first-degree murder” for killing his mother.
A few hours after the incident, Grady Judd, the Polk County Sheriff, released a statement regarding the incident.
As per his statement, Emmanuel Espinoza was driving to Elvia Espinoza, his mother. His motive was to stay there for a family event.
However, when Emmanuel arrived at the door, he held a knife. When his mom opened the door, he started stabbing his mother in the doorway.
Elvia Espinoza was a 47-year-old elementary school teacher who was killed brutally by her son for getting on his nerves, police stated. She was popular for the fashion-related content that she shared on social media.
This incident occurred at around 2 p.m., on April 6, Saturday in Frostproof, Florida.
After killing his mother, the suspect called 911 and confessed the crime.
Who is Emmanuel Espinoza?
As per TimesNow, Emmanuel Espinoza is a medical student pursuing his education from Florida State University.
According to ABC News, the incident occurred when the victim was on a call talking to a family-relative.
Grady Judd, the Polk County Sheriff, in a statement, recorded,
“We talked to him and he confessed. He said, ‘You know, I have wanted to kill my mother for many, many years because she got on my nerves.”
The police official added that Elvia Espinoza lived in the south of Frostproof, in a beautiful house.
He added,
“He knocked on the front door, and when mom opened the front door, he began to stab her. She ran from him, she was talking to a family member on the phone, and … he stabbed her until she fell down and died.”
As per the statements by the sheriff, the suspect, Emmanuel Espinoza has been sent to Polk County Jail.
