On Wednesday, Mamta attacked the government and said that the Center is not providing Corona vaccines to the state. In response to this, the Central Government, giving information about the vaccines data, said that there are still more than 20 lakh vaccine doses left with the Bengal government.
Vaccination work continues rapidly with the second wave of Coronavirus havoc in the country. Meanwhile, after Maharashtra, Rajasthan (Rajsthan), now West Bengal got into a dispute with the central government over the corona vaccine. The Chief Minister of the state, Mamta Benerjee has said that a sufficient quantity of vaccines is not being provided in the state. CM Mamata’s has rejected this statement. On Wednesday, Mamata’s attacked the government and said that the Center is not providing Corona vaccines to the state. In response to this, the Central Government, giving information about the vaccine data, said that there are still more than 20 lakh vaccine doses left with the Bengal government.
According to the data, the state has 22.01 lakh corona vaccines.
The government said that as of March 17, a total of 52.90 lakh doses of Kovishield and Kovaxin have been supplied to Bengal. Out of this, 30.89 lakhs have been used by the state government during the vaccination campaign, while 22.01 lakh corona vaccine doses are still left.
Let me tell you that Chief Minister Mamata’s Banerjee did not participate in the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with various Chief Ministers yesterday. Alabama Bandhoopadhyay, the Chief Secretary of Bengal, was involved in this conversation with the PM on the issue of Corona. He raised the issue of vaccines during the meeting and said that Bengal needed more vaccines.
CMs of these states did not come to the meeting
Apart from Mamata’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were not present in this meeting. Yogi was campaigning in Assam. During this, the Prime Minister, referring to Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Odisha, said that more emphasis is being laid on rapid antigen testing in these states. He said that it will not work. All states of the country will have to increase the RT-PCR test rate to above 70 percent. Where necessary, create micro containment zones and do not take any kind of laxity.
The second wave has to stop: Modi
Let us know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the Chief Ministers of States and Union Territories to take necessary steps to stop Corona’s ‘second wave’ immediately. Expressing concern over the increasing new cases of infection, the PM said that if these are not stopped here, a nationwide state of epidemic can be created. He has asked states to focus more on RT-PCR testing than on rapid antigen testing. According to the report released on Wednesday by the Ministry of Health, 28,903 new corona cases have been registered in the last 24 hours.
Describing the worsening of the corona vaccine in some states as worrisome, the Prime Minister urged for a proper system to immediately stop it. He said that the problem of vaccine wastage is serious in some states. Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh have more than 10 percent vaccine waste. It is a waste of the rights of others. This needs immediate stopping and monitoring. He urged the Chief Ministers to ensure that the lot of vaccines found earlier is used first so that there is no risk of expiry.
