Noida to hire a new agency for a report on a safe city project

The Noida authority is yet to welcome a new agency on board by March, which will be preparing the detailed project report (DPR) on the ‘Safe City’ project. The decision has been taken to make the whole city under surveillance. This will help the police to regulate the law and border properly, as stated on Sunday.

Officials also sent a request for proposal (RFP) that will invite the interested agencies along with their bids for DPR. As per reports, officials will conduct a pre-bid meeting during the 1st week of February, officials said.

In the ₹80 crore-Safe City project, the officials are planning to install CCTV cameras in 450 key locations like government offices, markets, parks and outside metro stations in order to put the desired places under surveillance. The project is expected to be completed by 2023 end. 

“We have got a list of 450 spots from the police, where we need to install cameras,” said Ritu Maheshwari chief executive officer of Noida authority.

“Once these cameras will be installed, the authority will hand over the project to the police for monitoring,” said another Noida official.

Police also stated that a new control room will be installed that will keep an eye on the desired locations.“We will put all public spaces, including city markets, and government offices, outside the city’s metro stations and parks under e-surveillance. We will make a control room to monitor these spots. Ambulances and police emergency help vehicles will be connected to provide immediate help in case of a crime in any area,” said a senior police official, requesting anonymity.

The new project will help the city to be more safer and regulated as compared to the other metropolitan cities of india.
