Typhoons are stationed at RAF Kinloss in Moray
Two fighter jets had to be diverted to an RAF station in Lincolnshire due to bad weather affecting their base in Moray.
The pilots of the Typhoons “squawked” an alert earlier than touchdown at RAF Coningsby as a result of they have been “comparatively low” on gas.
The RAF stated the message was put out as routine process. The jets had been on a protracted coaching sortie from Kinloss.
A 3rd Hurricane has been diverted to Stornoway Airport in Lewis.
The Met Workplace has a yellow “remember” warning for heavy rain for a large part of Scotland.
Moray and components of the Highlands have seen thundery downpours. The weather warning is in place till 21:00 on Tuesday.
A coaching squadron of Typhoons are stationed at Kinloss Barracks whereas the runway and different services at RAF Lossiemouth, additionally in Moray, are being upgraded.
