Rahul Gandhi to file nomination in Wayanad

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Wayanad on Wednesday to file his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Accompanied by his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Gandhi flew from Kannur airport to Wayanad in a helicopter, where they were warmly welcomed by a crowd of supporters.

After landing in Wayanad, the siblings participated in a roadshow from the airport to the Wayanad Collectorate, where Rahul Gandhi will officially file his nomination papers. He is seeking re-election from the constituency and is facing competition from CPI candidate Annie Raja and BJP’s state president K. Surendran.

In the 2019 polls, Rahul Gandhi had secured a significant victory in Wayanad with the highest margin of votes in the state. This time, he is gearing up to contest against his opponents in the upcoming elections scheduled for April 26. The state of Kerala will be electing all 20 of its MPs in the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
