Every Year (2021), Remembrance Day is celebrated in three countries (USA, UK and Canada) on November 11th every year as a mark of the end of World War I in 1918. It is also commonly known as Armistice Day. Remembrance Day is observed to remember the sacrifice of soldiers who died while serving in that conflict.

Remembrance Day was first observed in 1919, during the Commonwealth Games. This day is also known as “Armistice Day”, because on 10 November 1919 Armistice Agreement was signed which was responsible for the end of the First World War on November 11.
Significance of Remembrance Day
The significance of this day is to make the citizens continuously remember the sacrifice of all soldiers who died for the nation in World War I. Memorial Day is also observed in US on 30 May to honour soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the American Civil war.
And do you know, In 2000, the US government asked every American citizen to pause at 3 pm local time on Memorial Day to remember the fallen soldiers. This time was chosen as most Americans are free on this day.
When is Remembrance Day in USA, UK and Canada?
In the UK, they mark the day of World War 1 at 11 AM on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. A two-minute silence is held at 11 AM to remember the soldiers and people who died in First World War. They also mark Remembrance Sunday on the second Sunday in November. They held ceremonies at war memorials, cenotaphs and churches throughout the country. The Royal Family of Britain and their top politicians gather at The Cenotaph in Whitehall, London, for a memorial service.
