6-week courses, night driving lessons & more in Noida, Ghaziabad

The UP government is all set to establish Driving Training Centres (DTC) in Ghaziabad and Noida along with other districts of the state. The centre will be aiming to help those who want to get a license of driving. For this Private firms will be a part of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. In this interested candidates will be trained at a reasonable fee in Noida.

The DTCs will be giving driving lessons for light, medium and heavy motor vehicles along with refresher courses, wet weather driving, night and hill driving, fire hazard training on vehicles and lessons for vehicles carrying dangerous or hazardous goods, explosives, etc. This will help in raising awareness regarding road accidents, the environment and traffic pollution. The fee for the course will range from Rs 500 to Rs 10,000 and the duration of the course will be around 6 weeks. 

Siyaram Verma, assistant regional transport officer (ARTO – administration), Gautam Budh Nagar, stated that establishing a driving training centre is a vital part of the government. “This aims to train the younger generation for safe driving. The transport department invites applications from interested private firms to set up such centres on the PPP model,” he said. Interested firms can send their applications to the government through uptransport.upsdc.gov.in.

The terms and conditions include the applicant/firm should have an annual turnover of at least Rs 2 crore. The centre must be within ten kilometres from State Highway and National Highway along with proper equipment of internet. A single applicant can only have two centres in one region. Every centre should have one manager with at least 3 years of professional experience under the Motor Vehicles Act, of 1988. A driver trainer or instructor with 5 years of experience should be allowed to train the candidates.
