“Nobody but God can stop us now”. This is what was said by the project manager when asked about the an illegal 40- storey Noida Twin Towers Demolition. The building is said to be even taller than Qutub Minar.
The demolition will place on August 28, 2022, Sunday, all preparation is done stated by Mayur Mehta, a Project Manager at Edifice Engineering who is responsible for the demolition.
Noida Authority CEO and Noida Police Commissioner also paid their visit to the site in order to inspect everything regarding the demolition. Mr Mehta stated, adding that all the floors have been wired with explosives today.
“We have today connected the explosives on each floor to the wire and will set them off by pressing a button from 100 meters away,” he said.
Such a big demolition has never happened in India before, he added, though the company has done bigger ones in Africa.
Mr Mehta said the dust will remain for 12-15 minutes after the demolition but the debris will not fly off to nearby buildings.
“Even if the debris does scatter, we have covered the residential buildings with a special type of cloth,” he said, Along with everyone’s prayer as something like this is being done for the first time in India.
The demolition is all set to take place around 2:30 pm on (Sunday), August 28.
3,700kg of Explosives to be used for Noida Twin Towers Demolition
Almost 3,700 kg of explosives has been planted in the building to demolish the twin tower. Traffic planning, evacuation of residents, and other arrangements are in place, officials have said.
The Supreme Court has also given the green light to demolish the illegal Noida Twin Towers Demolition. All the preparation were supposed to start by 21 August but the court accepted the Noida Authority’s request and decided to extend the date of the demolition to August 28.
