The National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust along with the Greater Noida authority are building a logistic hub. The development will be part of an integrated industrial township in Dadri, Chithera, Junpat, Kathera, Palla, Pali, and Bodaki.
This multi-level Logistics Hub will be built on 333 hectares of land, meanwhile, the Transport Hub will be spread over 145 hectares.
The Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited (IITGNL) will incur ₹814 crores to develop a 3.5km-long rail project that will connect the multimodal Logistics Hub, as well as Transport Hub with the dedicated freight corridor line from New Dadri railway station. Development work is all set to start in near time, officials said.
Surendra Singh, chief executive officer, of IITGNL, conducted a meeting with concerned officials last week and gave the green light to the budget for the project. “IITGNL will spend ₹814 crores to build this rail link to smoothen connectivity between Greater Noida’s Logistics Hub and Transport Hub. The rail link will be completed within 3 years,” he said.
“This project will help in the transportation of cargo within 24 hours from Greater Noida to Gujarat, Kolkata and Mumbai. Currently, no such connectivity exists that hinders the transportation of raw materials. It takes almost 4-5 days to ship the goods. The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), of which these projects are part, will also benefit western Uttar Pradesh cities which send can send their agricultural and other products within 24 hours,” Singh said.
The combined industrial township in Greater Noida will soon become home to manufacturing units of electronic products. Officials said that manufacturers will power to enjoy world-class cargo connectivity with the help of the new development link as it will all be a part of DMIC.
