Christians celebrate the orthodox christmas on January 7th. Mostly the festival is celebrated in the central as well as the eastern parts of Europe. Before this, Orthodox Christians celebrate Nativity and Adoration of the Shepherds i.e people who visited Baby Jesus on January 6th. On 7th January Adoration of the Magi (three kings) is observed. Orthodox Christmas Eve is celebrated on the 6th of January. 

In many parts of Europe, it is treated as a national holiday. Countries like Egypt, Belarus, Georgia, Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Serbia, and Moldova remain closed for the celebration. Other countries like to celebrate it on 6th January. The day is treated just like Christmas Day with the same kind of celebration but with no meat and dairy. Some devotees like to keep fast on this day.
