On Foundation Day, projects worth ₹155 crores were dedicated to the public in Noida

Recently, Noida celebrated its Foundation Day by organizing 3-day events including cultural activities and sports along with launching new projects. The event was organized from April 15th to 17th and the participation of many top officials like  MP Rajya Sabha Surendra Nagar, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, and  Member of Parliament Dr. Mahesh Sharma.

The events were kickstarted by many social groups participating in sports events such as crickets, football, etc to name a few. The social activist took part in the brainstorming session on how the city can be improved. Folk singers sang songs telling the journey of the city from 1976 to the current day. “We have dedicated 15 projects worth ₹155 crores to the public at the foundation day event, and foundation stones of 31 projects worth ₹179 crores were laid today on the occasion,” stated by Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of the Noida Authority.

As per the officials, many projects have also been launched including a resurfacing of the 20-km-long Noida-Greater Noida Expressway worth ₹62 crores, the launch of the electric cycle project at 20 locations, construction of a 132 KV power substation in Sector 63 that will provide power supply to residential and industrial sectors. 

As for the work of resurfacing, it was initially started in January 2021 with suppose to be completed in the next 6 months. Although, with the pandemic, the work couldn’t be completed. 

“The work of Noida E-way resurfacing was challenging while the road was opened for the use of the commuters,” said Maheshwari.

Additionally, the foundation stone was laid regarding the skywalk that will connect Sector 52 to the Sector 51 metro station. The worth of the project is Rs 25 crore and is all set to be completed by the end of this year.
