Ghaziabad: DMRC submits new plan to link Noida’s Sector 62 station with Vaishali

Noida– The concerned officials from Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has stated that DMRC has earlier submitted a new project i.e. 5,83 Km metro line that will connect Vaishali Metro station in Ghaziabad to Noida’s Sector 62 Metro station. This will be 3rd plan by DMRC submitted regarding the new metro line to Ghaziabad Metro Authority. with this, commuters will reach their destination in just minutes.

“The DMRC has submitted to us a tentative plan to connect the Sector 62 Metro station on the Blue Line to Vaishali Metro station in Ghaziabad. According to the new plan, the line passes through Indirapuram to reach Vaishali station. The two previous plans have not been dropped as such. We will now study the new plan to find out whether it is feasible. Land is required for construction and, later, the funding pattern will be decided,” stated by Manvendra Singh, officiating chief engineer, GDA.

According to the current plan, it incurs a cost of Rs 1,300-1,400 crore once it is completed. The proposed line will spread across a 5.83 Km route and will pass through DPS Indirapuram, CISF, Niti Khand, Ramlila Ground, Ramprastha, Gyan Khand lastly connecting to Vaishali Metro station. As per the officials, four more stations will be added in the near plan. Stations will be added near Gyan Khand, Vaibhav Khand, Niti Khand and DPS. 

Back in 2020, DMRC submitted a detailed plan to link Sahibabad to Noida’s Sector 62 at a cost worth ₹1,517 crores and another line to connect Mohan Nagar with Vaishali at a cost of ₹1,808.22 crores. Although this year in January, funds were denied by GDA for the project. Additionally, the state also denied funds for the extensions of two metro lines.
