Noida– The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority will soon build a new bus rapid transit corridor (BRTS) that will connect Delhi to other NCR cities along with Noida International Airport. The corridor will be equipped with high-speed road connectivity between industrial sectors of Yamuna Expressway with Pari Chowk. The Yamuna authority or say YEIDA opened its bids to develop the BRTS this week and later approved RITES Limited for making a detailed project report in the next months.

The consultants now have to analyze the high-speed road corridors across the globe in order to identify the new routes that will link the NCR cities with the Noida airport. This will help in making a feasible plan by the authority.
Additionally, the officials will also be designing an infrastructure, bus technology and fleet size apart from making a report on financial viability, business model and funding of the upcoming bus corridor. Officials working on the BRTS project stated that- New corridor aims to offer an efficient and fast corridor in the NCR region and around the airport. This will be developed as an economic nerve centre. Plus, the authority has also planned to build dedicated lanes for pedestrians, motorcyclists as well as cyclists. BRTS is one of the facets of the public transport system that the government plans to implement here to provide smooth connectivity with nearby cities and the Delhi airport. Besides the BRTS, transportation systems like metro, rapid rail and pod taxis are also being worked upon,” stated by Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, the nodal officer for Noida International Airport Limited. The consultant further added that they will be making DPR in two phases. During the first phase, they will carry detailed study on how the NCR cities will be connected with the corridor.
