The world is facing heartbreak as the famous hacker Kevin Mitnick passes away at the age of 59. He took his last breath on 16th July 2023. The infamous hacker and security consultant gained notoriety in the 1980s and 1990s. Because of his impressive cybersecurity skills, he was put on the FBI’s most-wanted list. He was best known for his skills to access unauthorized computer systems, copying software illegally, intercepting passwords as well as accessing confidential information.

He was battling pancreatic cancer for almost a year before losing it and passing away on 16th July at the age of just 59. 

As mentioned above, he gained attention through his smart hacking computer skills. Because of this, he became a prime target in the FBI’s most wanted list which later led to his arrest and imprisonment. With time he decided to use his skills to teach the world about cyber security. He started cybersecurity consulting, public speaking and wrote books on his hacking work and adventures. With time his net worth grew from $5 million to $20 million.

He was born on 6th August 1963 in Van Nuys, California. Surprisingly, his hacking skills become quite evident at the age of 12. He shows smart skills along with a passion towards new technology. Most of his motivation came from the iconic movie “Three Days of the Condor”. He even nicknames himself as Condor. With continuous dedication, he broke into the computer network of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) at the age of 16. Because of his hacking skills, he has his own share of controversy which even landed him in prison in 1988.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Kimberley Mitnick, who is reportedly pregnant with their first child.
