WATCH: Johnny Somali Sparks Outrage with Racial Slurs Directed at Japanese Community In A Zoom Meeting

If there’s someone who wants to have an eternal beef with Japan, it has to be Johnny Somali. He recently sparked controversy once again with his racially charged comments during a private meeting held by members of the Japanese community.

Before delving into that, it’s important to note his background; in August 2023, he was arrested in Japan for “playing loud music at an Osaka restaurant” and was subsequently jailed for the same reason.

Though Johnny Somali has been more involved in IRL vlogs, he has now also transitioned to streaming on Kick, which his fans enjoy.

In one incident in 2023, while in Japan, he started playing loud music on a train, mocked people on the street, and insensitively referenced the 2011 Fukushima incident, which is a deeply painful subject for the people of Japan due to its connection to a devastating tragedy.

On March 5, 2024, he shared his experience of being detained by Japanese authorities, stating,

“So I am assuming they noticed that and started following me for 30 minutes. I go into the convenience store because chat is like go get a drink. I come out, this motherf*ker has 12 cops with him, 12-20 cops with him. And I am like, ‘What the f*ck, I am cooked, it’s over. It’s game over.”

However, this time he resorted to bullying and shouted racial slurs online.

He joined a private Zoom meeting after obtaining the password.

He suddenly started shouting,

“Hiroshima, Nagasaki! We’ll do it to you again. Fukushima! Hiroshima, Nagasaki! You know what we do to you.”

This caused significant distress among the participants as he used slurs and slang, being overtly racist and insensitive regarding a highly sensitive topic.

As of now, he has not been banned or faced any repercussions from Kick, where he was streaming this content. However, given that several streamers have been banned from the platform in the past for their controversial actions, it is expected that Johnny may face similar consequences.
