Trust is the number one priority in AI, according to Salesforce India CEO

New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) Arundhati Bhattacharya, CEO and Chairperson of Salesforce India, emphasized the need for trust to create safe and responsible large language models (LLMs) in India. She mentioned the importance of complying with the government’s stringent processes and rules before launching new AI models.

Bhattacharya revealed that Salesforce is considering setting up a public sector initiative for AI in India and will only proceed after ensuring compliance with the government’s requirements. The company aims to address issues with AI before they reach the final stage to maintain data safety.

As a Cloud service provider, Salesforce is not directly affected by the current government AI rules that are aimed at B2C or end-user platforms. Bhattacharya explained that the company focuses on assisting customers in integrating their own AI models while ensuring that the output passes through a robust trust layer.

The ‘Einstein Trust Layer’ by Salesforce is designed for enterprise AI and includes features like customer-configured data masking and storing audit trail and feedback data in Data Cloud. The company has recently introduced Einstein 1 Studio, enabling admins and developers to customize Einstein Copilot and embed AI across various apps seamlessly for customer and employee experiences.
