Siddaramaiah accuses BJP of plotting to alter the Constitution

Bengaluru, March 11 (IANS) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of having a “dictatorial” attitude and plotting to alter the constitution. He warned of potential bloodshed if the constitution is changed and emphasized the importance of upholding democratic principles.

Siddaramaiah stated, “BJP has hatched a conspiracy to change the constitution. But they need a two-third majority to make any changes.” He criticized the BJP for prioritizing their agenda over the welfare of the country and its citizens, emphasizing their focus on constitutional amendments.

The Chief Minister urged the poor, backward, and minority communities to oppose the BJP’s alleged plan to alter the constitution, warning of potential unrest in the country if such changes are made. He attributed Prime Minister Modi’s alleged intentions to senior BJP leader Ananth Kumar.

In response to BJP’s defense that Kumar’s statements were personal, Siddaramaiah challenged the notion, questioning how a senior leader’s remarks could be considered personal. He accused the BJP of disregarding democratic values in favor of implementing principles from Manusmriti.

Siddaramaiah reiterated the importance of upholding the principles of freedom, equality, and fraternity embedded in the Indian constitution, stressing the need to protect the country’s democratic foundation from any potential threats posed by the ruling party’s alleged agenda.
