Nifty Up 1% for the Week

New Delhi, March 28 (IANS) Nifty rose 1.04 per cent for the week, 1.57 per cent for the month, and 1.80 per cent for the quarter, according to Deepak Jasani, Head of Retail Research, HDFC Securities. The Nifty extended its winning streak on Thursday, closing up 0.92 per cent at 22326.9.

Cash market volumes on the NSE remained above Rs 1 lakh crore at Rs 1.12 lakh crore. Broad market indices rose less than the Nifty, indicating a positive sentiment in the equity markets. Joseph Thomas, Head of Research at Emkay Wealth Management, stated that the markets ended the short trading week on a positive note.

Looking ahead, the performance of the equity markets may be closely tied to economic performance, with concerns about valuations being raised. The upcoming earnings season will be crucial in determining the strength of earnings momentum and assigning earnings multiples, according to industry experts.
