Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, announced that he would be quitting YouTube. Well, the announcement came on April 1, i.e., April Fool’s Day, and that’s why not many are taking this seriously.
Many are taking the post as a prank, with netizens sharing their own opinions on Twitter.
Meanwhile, some netizens took this as a chance to play along with his prank.
He announced on his Twitter account, where he has around 29 million followers, stating,
“I’m quitting YouTube.”
MrBeast is one of the most famous content creators on YouTube and stands with estimated net worth of around $700 million.
On his YouTube channel, he has 200 million subscribers, so it was obvious that his tweet would attract maximum attention from the public.
It should be noted that MrBeast is known for pulling all kinds of pranks and social media experiments on his channel.

His viral tweet has also attracted the attention of Twitter owner Elon Musk as well as Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit.

As his tweet started to go viral, he made another announcement stating that he would be shifting to X full-time.
Judging by their work in recent years, he is slowly making his presence known on Twitter too, after being encouraged by Elon Musk.
This year, in January, he made his first video on Twitter to check out the market as well as its revenue generation. Later, he revealed that he earned almost $250K from this. But, according to his own acknowledgment, he believes the money earned via X is too little compared to YouTube.
Also, he is now bringing his content to Amazon Prime. He has partnered with the OTT platform to bring shows based on his MrBeast games.
