Meghalaya CM affirms the strong relation between NPP and NDA

In Shillong, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma highlighted the strong relationship between National People’s Party (NPP) and BJP-led NDA despite challenges. Sangma emphasized the alliance’s unity for the upcoming Lok Sabha election and expressed confidence in PM Modi’s leadership for India’s progress.

During campaigning, Sangma stated, “The ten-year alliance between BJP-led NDA and NPP is solid. Despite facing numerous obstacles, we have always put the needs of the citizens first in all of our decisions.” The alliance believes in India’s economic growth under PM Modi’s leadership, aiming for the country to rank third in the world by 2028 and become a developed nation by 2047.

Significantly, in the previous state assembly polls, BJP and NPP contested separately but later joined forces to form an alliance government in Meghalaya. This time, BJP has opted not to field candidates in two parliamentary seats in Meghalaya, acknowledging PM Modi’s leadership and development initiatives in the northeast region, as highlighted by Chief Minister Sangma.
