Her unusual action resulted in her arrest by the police over the charges of promoting indecency in public places. She described the incident as a “repressive interpretation of the law”.

Caroline Werner’s topless walking video goes viral

The incident happened back in May when Caroline Werner was spotted walking her dog being topless on the beach in Balneário Camboriú, a coastal city in the south of Brazil.

Upon asking about her action, she stated- “Unfortunately in my country, even though the Constitution ensures gender equality, in practice this does not happen.”

In the country of Brazil, Article 233 of the Penal Code states that- “performing an obscene act in a public place, either open or exposed to the public is a offence.” However, it should be noted that the “obscene act” is not specifically defined. If she was found guilty then she could face three months to a year in prison.

The Santa Catarina State Prosecutor’s office which is handling her case has offered the model a plea deal but as per news reports, she didn’t come at the hearing. Whereas her lawyers claimed that weren’t notified about the hearing and are currently requesting a new date.
