Famous cyclist Anil Kadsur died of a heart attack in the early morning of 2 February. He made a mark for himself in the world of the cycling community of India, which earned him the popularity and being referred to as ‘cycle guru,’ ‘cycle yogi,’ and ‘century cyclist’.
He was best known for cycling at least 100 km every day. According to news reports, he suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of 45, which led to his passing. He resided in Bengaluru and used to ride a bicycle daily. He went on to complete 42 consecutive months of century rides, totaling 1,250 rides.
Anil Kadsur Cause of Death
On 31 January, Anil Kadsur shared on his social media account that he had accomplished 42 months of back-to-back daily 100 km cycle rides.
Unfortunately, as reported by TOI, on the same day, he experienced distress, which prompted his admission to a hospital. Sadly, he passed away on 2 February.
Dr. Sudhir Kumar, a neurologist, stated on his social media, “He was cycling for about 7 hours daily to cover a distance of 100 km. According to research, the effect of exercise on mortality is U-shaped: initially, there is a benefit, but beyond a certain exercise dose, there is a detrimental effect on health and an increased mortality risk,” he said.
He also suggested keeping the exercise dose within a reasonable limit and taking at least one day per week off from vigorous exercise.
Who was Anil Kadsur?
He was a famous fitness trainer and cyclist from Bangalore. He was known for cycling 100 kilometers every day, earning him titles such as “century cyclist,” “cycle guru,” and “cycle yogi,” among others. He was 45 years old and used to start his cycling at 3 am, completing it by 7 am. He was married to Sindhu. Not much information is available about his children.
