GNIDA in Noida will soon start a new service i.e Bus Line by March end which improve the connectivity between the public and the metro station. As per a statement from Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), around 15,000 commuters use the metro in Greater Noida on a daily basis. However, due to a lack of better transportation, many had to use expensive cabs to cover the long distance to reach home.

Noida latest updates

“The authority is planning to provide maximum coverage in the city with the 100 new buses, which will facilitate travel from residential areas to the metro stations in Greater Noida. The tender process will start soon. We are also negotiating with the NMRC on the availability of buses with them for this service.” stated Anand Vardhan, additional chief executive officer of GNIDA.

Currently, officials are working on the timings and initial routes along with another technical part of the tender as well as final costing.  Last year in June, GNIDA in Greater Noida inaugurated 25 new e-buses that will run on the route to Ghaziabad. But later it increased to 100 buses. GNIDA is also working in the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to provide better connectivity in areas such as GB University, Knowledge Park 2, Pari Chowk and Surajpur, Pi-3, Knowledge Park 2 and GB University.

Vartika Asthana (27), a PR professional and Beta 1 resident, said, “I moved to Greater Noida six months ago. I travel to Delhi for work daily. I walk nearly a kilometre to reach the metro station in Beta 1. While commuting in the morning is still safer, it’s not safe at night. If a government-run bus service connects other localities, it will be convenient for the workforce in the city.”
