Haryana: Manohar Lal Khattar government Survives Non-Confidence vote, averted political crisis
The Manohar Lal Khattar government survives non-Confidence vote in the Haryana Legislative Assembly. During the budget session, the Congress had brought a no-confidence motion against the government. But the BJP proved a majority in the voting on the confidence motion in the assembly.
This no-confidence motion was presented by Congress leader and former Haryana CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda. Actually, some MLAs of BJP’s coalition party Jananayak Janata Party had told their party that JJP should withdraw from the government on the issue of farmers.
Let me tell you that there are 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly, of which the majority figure is 45. At present, the BJP has 40 MLAs and the government was formed with the support of 10 JJP MLAs. At the same time, BJP also has the support of five independent MLAs. At the same time, Congress has 30 MLAs.

Story behind the motion of Non-confidence
JJP MLA Devendra Babli, an MLA from Tohana, considered close to JJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, expressed his displeasure for the party’s stance in the assembly a day earlier. During the assembly budget session, Babli said that the people of the village of his constituency are boycotting them by showing solidarity in the movement of farmers.
Devendra Singh Babli says that either the government will have to resolve this issue of farmers in the next 15 days or the JJP should withdraw support from the government.
