National Legal Services day was first started by the Supreme Court of India in 1995. Their aim was to provide proper legal services to the economically weaker section of the society and to create awareness about the legal services in India. These communities face major discrimination from society and they are not aware of how to fight against it legally. They are not aware of any rights given to them by the constitution and due to lack of education, they also find it difficult to fight for their rights.
