Florida, on March 28, Daniil Medvedev secured a 6-2, 7-6(7) victory against Nicolas Jarry in the Miami Open, setting up a semifinal rematch with Jannik Sinner. Medvedev displayed excellent composure amidst Jarry’s late surge, extending his winning streak at Hard Rock Stadium to nine matches.

In the first set, Medvedev’s superior play was evident as he made only three unforced errors compared to Jarry’s 14. Despite Jarry’s attempt to stage a comeback and almost stealing the second set in a dramatic tie-break, Medvedev remained calm under pressure. A win would have propelled Jarry back to the Top 20 and marked a milestone for Chilean tennis in Miami.

Earlier in the day, Jannik Sinner advanced to his fourth semifinal of the year with a dominant performance against Tomas Machac. With a season-leading 20th match win at the Miami Open, Sinner showcased his prowess on the court. As a contender for his second ATP Masters 1000 crown, Sinner’s impressive 20-1 season record includes titles at the Australian Open and in Rotterdam.
