Thousands of women and girls* are ostracized, alienated, and mistreated against merely because they ovulate today.
It is inexcusable that women and girls are still barred from receiving an education, making a living, and completely and equitably partaking in everyday life due to a normal body function.

The German non-profit WASH United initially established Menstrual Hygiene Day in 2013. It was first observed in 2014 and has increased in popularity since then.
The World Period Hygiene Day organization has used the hashtag #ItsTimeForAction for the past three years to advocate for movement and commitment in menstrual personal hygiene.

We are now transitioning from asking for action to showing leadership by dedicating to movement in order to accelerate change. Using the hashtag #WeAreCommitted, institutions from all around the world will begin publicly announcing what they are determined to do by 2030 to ensure that no one is impeded when they menstruation begins. We will promote openness, offer a foundation for accountability, and urge others to leave our country by publicly making promises.

Menstrual Hygiene Day, May 28th, 2022

The MH Day Action Cycle, administered by the MH Day Worldwide Administration, is a new recurrent engagement and relevant components meant to catalyse action and engagement in MHH.

The goal of World Menstrual Cleanliness Day is to bring together all the opinions and actions of non-profits, government organisations, people, and the media to encourage better menstrual sanitation and wellbeing for everyone.
The goal of the day is to break the silence surrounding menstruation health and cleanliness, raise awareness, and change harmful social standards.
The event will provide an opportunities to meet choice and raise the political priority of menstrual sanitation and wellbeing at the world, regional, and municipal level.
