Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s Principal Advisor (Chief Advisor) PK Sinha has resigned. Sinha submitted his resignation to the PMO citing personal reasons. Several speculations are now being made about the reasons for PK Sinha’s resignation. However, Sinha has not yet made it clear that he has some other plan ahead or whether he is taking retirement.

Also worked as a cabinet secretary

PK Sinha worked as a cabinet secretary from 13 June 2015 to 30 August 2019. While in this position, his services were expanded 3 times. After which he was appointed as the Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister in September, 2019. Sinha is a 1977 batch officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

During his tenure, he worked as a secretary in the Ministry of Power and Shipping. Apart from this, he also served as a special secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Studied at Delhi University

Sinha graduated in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. After this he completed his post graduation from Delhi School of Economics. During his job, Sinha also did a Masters Diploma in Public Administration and an MPhil from Social Science.

As an IAS officer, he worked in many different departments. He worked with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and with the Central Government. While working with the state government, he was also the DM of Jaunpur and Agra. After which he spent many years of his job working in the central government ministries.
