PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2024: How to Apply Online; STEP-BY-STEP Guide

PM Vishwakarma Yojana was launched on September 17, 2023, on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. PM Narendra Modi announced the scheme to provide collateral-free loans of up to Rs 3 Lakhs to crafts workers and artisans in two tranches. 

The goal of the scheme is to maintain the rich customs, traditions, and legacy of crafts, artwork, and locally made goods. Thus, PM Vishwakarma Yojana aims to enhance the marketability and quality of the products by the Vishwakarma community. 

Highlights of the Vishwakarma Yojana

It is a central sector scheme with a total outlay of 13,000 crore covering five years from FY 2023-24 to FY 2027-28. 

Those enrolled in the PM Vishwakarma Yojana will get an ID card along with a PM Vishwakarma certificate. 

Collateral free loans will be provided in two tranches. The first loan will be provided, up to 1 lakh. The beneficiary is required to repay the loan in 18 months before availing the second tranche loan of 2 lakh at a concessional interest rate of 5%.

Special emphasis will be given to crafts worker and artisans belonging to the OBC category. 

Target Beneficiaries Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana

Craftspeople and artists working in a total of 18 trades are only available to bear the benefits under PM Vishwakarma Yojana. 

The following are the 18 trades: 

Traditional doll and toy makers, makers of baskets, mats, and chandeliers; manufacturers and toolkit manufacturers, Rosary, Tailor, Raj Mistri, Locksmiths, Boatbuilders, Fish trap makers, weapons makers, Blacksmithsmmsmmsmmsmsms, Goldsmith, Cobbler, Washerman, Barber, Potter, Sculptor, Carpenter, and Washerman. 

Types of Benefits Provided by PM Vishwakarma Yojana

The scheme is aimed at providing the following benefits to the crafts workers and artisans. 

1. Credit Support is a total of 3 Lakh Rupees in two tranches. 

2. Recognition

3. Skill Upgrade through programmes in two phases. 

4. Toolkit Incentive upto ₹15000 in the form of e-rupee or e-voucher. 

5.  Incentive for Digital Transaction of ₹1 per transaction capped at ₹100 in a month. 

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Eligibility Criteria

The comprehensive eligibility criteria of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is summarized below. 

1. The interested individual must be an artisan or a talented crafts worker. He must use his own hands and tools for the work. Moreover, he must belong to one of the 18 trades mentioned in the scheme. 

2. The individual must attain the minimum age of 18 years. 

3. Only one family member of a family is eligible to apply for this scheme. 

4. A person employed in any government job is not eligible to apply for PM Vishwakarma Yojana. 

5. Eligible beneficiaries under PM Mudra, PM SVaNidhi Yojana are not eligible to apply for this scheme. 

Documents Required by PM Vishwakarma Yojana

The following documents are required to apply for the scheme. 

1. Aadhar Card and PAN Card

2. Domicile certificate

3. Bank account passbook

4. Passport size photo

5. Address proof

6. Caste certificate

7. Mobile number

How to Apply for PM Vishwakarma Yojana Online, Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Visit the official website of PM Vishwakarma Yojana, https://pmvishwakarma.gov.in/ . Go to its homepage then click on Apply. 

Step 2: Application form will open up. Register yourself by providing necessary information such as mobile number and OTP. 

Step 3: Enter the CSC portal by entering the User ID and password that was sent to the registered mobile number. 

Step 4: Enter your mobile number and Aadhaar card number for validation. 

Step 5: Fill up all the necessary information regarding personal and bank account details on the application form. 

Step 6: Scanned copies of certain documents like bank account passbooks are also required to be uploaded to the portal. 

Step 7: A link will be displayed on the portal mentioning the PM Vishwakarma Certificate. 

Step 8: Download the certificate. 

Step 9: Your certificate will contain the Vishwakarma Digital ID which will be required to apply for this scheme. 

Step 10: Log in to your PM Vishwakarma portal again with the help of registered cellphone number and Vishwakarma Digital ID.  

Step 11: Application form to apply for the scheme will be displayed on the screen.

Step 12: Fill up the form and submit it to apply for the scheme.
