Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana 2024: Online Registration Process

The government of India, in January 2017, rolled out a commendable scheme for lactating and pregnant mothers, the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). This scheme aims to provide essential services and financial support to secure the environment for both the child and mother during the crucial time of lactation and pregnancy.

It is a centrally sponsored scheme where the state government bears 40% of the cost. Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana has empowered the lives of millions of women across India, ensuring a brighter future for them.

Who is eligible for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, PMMVY?

The pregnant and lactating females are the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. However, these women should fall under the category of below poverty line (BPL).

  1. Pregnant women: Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, a pregnant woman receives Rs. 5,000 in financial assistance in three installments. The first installment of Rs. 1,000 is given to the woman upon registration of pregnancy. She receives the second installment of Rs. 2,000 after one antenatal check-up. The final installment of Rs. 2,000 is given to her after the child’s birth and the first cycle of immunization.
  2. Lactating women: Lactating women are also beneficiaries under PMMVY. They are provided with an additional Rs. 1,000 to support their nutritional needs.

Documents Required for 1st Installment

• An undertaking/consent duly signed by the applicant and her husband • Copy of Bank/Post Office Account Passbook • Copy of Identity Proof • Copy of MCP card • Duly filled Application Form 1A

Documents Required for 2nd Installment

• All documents required for the First Installment • At least one Antenatal Check-up (ANC) paper • Acknowledgment slip Form 1A • Duly filled Form 1B

Documents required for the 3rd Installment

• Copy of childbirth registration • ID proof • MCP card • Duly filled up Form 1C • Copy of Form 1A and Form 1B • Copy of Aadhaar card (required in all states except for Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya)

Offline Procedure for Availing Maternity Benefits Under PMMVY

For the First Installment:

  1. The eligible women who are either pregnant or lactating can get financial assistance under the scheme by visiting the nearby Anganwadi Center (AWC) or any health facility approved by the government. However, this registration must be done within 150 days of the last menstrual period.
  2. Then the woman must fill up all the documents required to obtain them from the government-approved health facility or AWC (free of cost).
  3. Documents can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Women and Child Development’s official website.
  4. The woman should get an acknowledgment of registration and save it for future reference.

For the Second Installment:

The woman can get the second installment of the incentive at least after 6 months of her last menstrual period. The beneficiary is required to submit the documents mentioned above at the AWC.

For the Third Installment

To claim the third installment, the beneficiary needs to submit the required documents at the Anganwadi centers. She has to ensure that the newborn child has received its first cycle of immunization for Hepatitis B, DPT, OPV, and CG. After this, she will get the third installment.

How to Apply for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana? Online Registration

  1. Visit the official website https://pmmvy-cas.nic.in.
  2. Log in to the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’s software by providing the login details of the scheme facilitator (AWC/approved health facility).
  3. Go to “New Beneficiary” and fill in the Application Form 1A displayed there. Fill up the form as per the User Manual provided.
  4. To get your second installment, log in to your PMMVY CAS software again after 6 months.
  5. Click on the ‘Second Installment’ tab and fill in Form 1B.
  6. When the baby is born, you can get the final installment of financial assistance after completion of his/her first cycle of immunization for DPT, Hepatitis B, CG, and OPV.
  7. Log in to the portal, click on “Third Installment” and fill in Form 1C.
  8. Keep the essential documents handy (mentioned above) while filling in the forms.
