UP: CM isolates, former CM-Minister demands to postpone corona, panchayat elections

‘Thousands of families are being devastated by the corona in Lucknow. There are piles of corpses at the cremation ghats. The election is not necessary but it is important to save people’s lives. Panchayat elections should be postponed for at least one month.

Earlier, a letter in the state government in the name of Minister Brajesh Pathak has also become very viral. It is also written in the letter that even on the call of the minister, Yogesh Praveen, who received the Padma Shri, did not get treatment and died. It has been written in the letter that 4-5 thousand patients are getting daily in the city, and in view of this, the number of beds in hospitals is very less.

The first phase of voting is on April 15 in UP. These panchayat elections are being conducted in 4 stages, before that the leaders are also going for their propaganda.

In such a situation, if the panchayat elections are held, then surely the resources will have to be used for these elections in the midst of the epidemic. Also, cases of corona virus may come up rapidly.

CM isolate, former CM corona positive

The situation in UP at present is such that the head of the state is CM Yogi Adityanath isolate, because some officials of the Chief Minister’s office who were in contact with the CM have been found to be corona infected. Former CM of the state Akhilesh Yadav has been found corona positive and is undergoing treatment in isolation. Ashutosh Tandon, another minister of the UP government, has also been found to be Corona positive on 14 April. Tandon recently organized an event on Lalji Tandon’s birth anniversary, in which many people attended.

About 1 dozen IAS officers, including some district magistrates, who are watching the functioning of the government, are also in the grip of this epidemic.

Apart from the lack of remedies, things like the struggle for admission in hospitals, delay in testing report, have been continuously coming up in the last few days from UP.

Talking about cases of infection, a record 18,021 new corona virus cases have been reported in the state on 13 April. This is the biggest boom one day.
