Who Is Arpita Mukherjee, The Former Actress From Whom Enforcement Directorate Retrieved Millions Of Dollars In Cash?
Arpita Mukherjee, a little-known actor who has primarily done cameos in a few Indian movies has had a stratospheric climb. Mukherjee has been in the media in the past week since the Enforcement Directorate detained her last Friday in Kolkata (ED). Her opulent south Kolkata residence was raided last week, and the ED confiscated money from it that was believed to be the profits of bribes in the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) recruitment scandal, totaling ₹280 million ($3.5 million). Partha Chatterjee, the minister of the Trinamool Congress party and the former education minister of west Bengal is reported to be close friends with Mukherjee.
The funds purportedly date back to Chatterjee’s stint in command of the educational department. Currently, Chatterjee is in charge of industry and commerce. The ED has already seized money, gems, and gadgets totaling $6.2 million.

According to local media, Arpita Mukherjee’s career has taken off recently. She grew up primarily in the mediocre Belgharia community of North 24 Parganas. Later, she decided to move to Kolkata’s posh Tollywood district and resided in a townhouse in Diamond City, a luxurious highrise sophisticated in south Kolkata.
Arpita describes herself as an actor and model on her social media accounts. After several years of hardship, Arpita began her actress and model in 2004. In 2010, she was cast in a minor role in the Bengali movie “Mama Bhagne,” which starred Bengali megastar, Prasenjit Chatterjee.
