World Creativity and Innovation Day is an annual celebration held on April 21, 2022. The day aims to encourage people to generate new ideas to make the world a better place to live in.
This day also aims to create awareness about the role of creativity and innovation in the Sustainable Development of the world. Albert Einstein had said that sustainable development of a country can happen only when the governments there focus on innovation and creative work.
Creativity and Innovation Day was first started on May 25, 2001, in Toronto, Canada. This day was established in 1977 by Marcy Sehgal of Canada. He was pursuing creative studies at the International Center for Studies in Creativity. The United Nations on April 27, 2017, adopted a resolution to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day across the world on April 21 to raise the importance among people the use of their creativity in problem-solving for any issue. 2015 was related to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
A report said that creative industry and culture should be a major economic strategy of a country. These industries have the potential to generate $2.25 billion in revenue worldwide. It is capable of producing 29.5 million jobs worldwide. The world community believes that creativity and innovation are the world’s most valuable treasures. Which can maintain the sustainable development pace of the world. In times of violence and animosity, it is creativity that can inspire the world to move forward.
