World Sustainable Energy Day 2022 Theme

The theme of World Sustainable Energy 2022 is Energy transition – full speed ahead!

History

It was established in 1991 by the regional government to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and new energy technologies. The main target groups are private households, public bodies (such as municipalities), and businesses. The Energy Agency is active with many projects and programs at the local, regional, national, European Union, and international levels. It also includes organizing seminars and events, e.g. World Sustainable Energy Day, one of the largest annual European conferences on sustainable energy (over 1,000 participants from 61 countries in 2007). Renewable energy sources and energy efficiency are the cornerstones of any sustainable energy policy.

Importance, and Significance

Renewable energy also helps in conserving the natural resources of the country. Renewable energy provides reliable power supply and fuel diversification, which increases energy security and reduces the risk of fuel spills while reducing the need for imported fuels.

It attracts about 100,000 visitors and about 1,000 exhibition companies. World Sustainable Energy Day is organized in German by the Energiesparverband, the regional energy agency of Upper Austria.

Mastering the digital transformation of energy and buildings will be critical to creating a thriving economy and the success of the global clean energy transition.
