World Wildlife Day 2024 Theme, Quotes, Images, Messages, Slogans, Posters, Banners, Cliparts and Captions To Create Awareness

World Wildlife Day is observed annually on March 3rd. It celebrates wildlife and marks the anniversary of the 1973 Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), an international agreement between governments aimed at regulating the trade of animals and protecting them from harm or exploitation. Under CITES, approximately 30,000 species of plants and 5,800 species of animals are managed, including six endangered species of sloths.

The theme for World Wildlife Day in 2024 is “Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation.”

This day offers an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the incredible biodiversity of our planet. Seminars and programs are conducted to raise awareness about the threats facing wildlife today. Teaching children how to treat endangered species is one of the best ways to protect wildlife in the future.

Currently, wildlife faces numerous dangers, including poaching and hunting. Climate change also poses a significant threat to the well-being of animals, with many wild animals suffering due to heatwaves, droughts, floods, and storms.

A few years ago, people worldwide were shocked by a massive bushfire in Brazil, initiated to clear land for livestock. Thousands of plants and animals perished tragically in the Amazon Rainforest fires, with sloths being particularly vulnerable. The exact number of sloths lost in the fire remains unknown. A similar situation occurred during the Australian bushfires.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it was believed that the virus was transmitted from animals to humans and began spreading in China. This highlighted the dark side of the wildlife trade. As a result, governments banned the sale and consumption of wild animals.
