Deepinder Goyal very young 38 years old entrepreneur is the co-founder and CEO of one of the largest food delivery services in India i.e Zomato. Zomato also serves in more than 24 countries like UAE, Sri Lanka, Qatar, UK, Indonesia and their more than 10,000 cities.

Deepinder a 38 Years old young entrepreneur was born on 26 January 1983 in Muktsar, Punjab of India. He has graduated from IIT Delhi in 2005 in Mathematics and Computing.

After graduating from IIT Delhi, Deepinder joined Bain and Company as a Senior Associate Consultant in January 2006. After which he founded FoodieBay.com along with his friend Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah in 2008. In 2011 they renamed it as a Zomato. 

He worked at Bain & Company as a management consultant in New Delhi. At Bain and Company, everyone had to stand in long queues to place their order for food.  While working in this company, he noticed at that time that menu cards were in great demand among his colleagues. That’s where the idea of ​​Zomato struck to his mind. He left job at Bain & Company to start his for his starup Foodibay in 2008 which became Zomato in 2011.

Deepinder Goyal career in Zomato

Deepinder Goyal received his first major funding from Edge in August 2011. Info Edge invested $1 million in FoodieBay.com. After Edge’s investment the company to Zomato.com. After this huge investment they also decided to quit their jobs at Bain and Company and worked full time for Zomato.

Zomato achieved the status of a unicorn in 2018. In 2020 their closing was of a $660 million primary financing round and at a post-money valuation of $3.9 billion.
