Mukesh Ambani, full name Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, is an Indian billionaire businessman who is the chairman and managing director of the Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), the flagship company of the Indian energy and materials consortium Reliance Group. He was birthed in Aden, Yemen, on April 19, 1957, he turns 65 today!

Dhirubhai Ambani, who began his career as a gas station attendant, had four children. Given the increasing insecure political atmosphere in Aden, Mukesh’s birthplace, the family moved to the Bhuleshwar neighbourhood of Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1958 and resided in a chawl. The launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, better known as Jio, in September 2016 was a triumph, and Reliance’s stock rose. He declared preferred stock in the ratio of 1:1 at RIL’s 40th annual general meeting, which is the country’s largest reward issuance in India, and the Jio Phone at an acceptable cost of 0.
