Dandekar was born on January 9, 1982, in Khartoum, Sudan, to a Marathi family from Pune, India, Shashidhar and Sulabha Dandekar. She was born and raised in Kingsgrove, New South Wales, Australia, with her siblings, actress and model Shibani Dandekar and supermodel Apeksha Dandekar.

Dandekar travelled to Mumbai, Maharashtra, in 2002, when he was 19 years old, to seek a career in the media industry of India.  TV’s House of Style cast her as a presenter. ‘MTV Dance Crew’, ‘TV Teen Diva’, ‘MTV News’, and ‘MTV Love School’ were among the shows she later presented for the channel. At the ‘Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards’ in 2008, she was named Best VJ. Dandekar has been a judge on India’s Next Top Model since 2014, with model-actress Lisa Haydon.

With a new video on Instagram, hit television VJ Anusha Dandekar has poked fun at all the speculation surrounding her appearance on Bigg Boss 15.
She quipped about accessing the mansion, throwing on an Instagram filter, because she was suddenly getting paid well, permitted to run her skin business from inside the house, and bring her dogs with her.

For the uninitiated, Karan Kundrra, who stars in Bigg Boss 15, was in a six-year partnership with VJ Anusha before calling it quits. Last year, Anusha used social media to suggest Karan was cheating on her.
The audience enjoy Karan’s relationship with ‘Swaragini’ starlet Tejasswi on the show. Karan also mentioned in an earlier episode of the show that he hopes Anusha and he had sat down together just to work through their problems.
