In the main rituals in Dussehra, devotees perform a theatrical performance of Lord Ram’s life story which is known as Ramleela. Additionally, during the night of the festival, massive over-the-top dummies of Ravan are stuffed with firecrackers and are set on fire in open areas such as empty grounds and parks. Raavan is placed alongside dummies of Meghnad and Kumbhkaran, all three are set on fire. Meanwhile, in Gujarat, people celebrate the Dussehra by performing the Garba, the famous folk dance. It is performed both in Navratri and in Dussehra while wearing traditional outfits and enjoying the occasions to the fullest.
Devotees in West Bengal celebrate the last day of the Durga Puja festival by immersing the statue of Goddess Durga in the water i.e river or lake. They bid goodbye to Maa Durga, the ritual is called Visarjan.
