Accidents happen in sports and it is often very tragic to see budding sportsmen who have a bright career before them and their career is cut short from such accidents. Recently an Indonesian fitness influencer, Justyn Vicky, tragically lost his life in a fluke accident during a weight training program in a gym. The most tragic part of this accident was, it was unnecessary and could have been prevented if there were proper security protocols in place.
Justyn Vicky an Indonesian Fitness Influencer lost his life after a barbell broke his neck during a workout. Justyn Vicky was attempting a 210 kg lift when this accident happened. The barbell fell on his neck breaking it and leading to critical compression of very important nerves connecting to his heart and lungs as per a report in a UK-based newspaper.
As per a report in the Channel News Asia, Justyn Vicky, a 33-year-old Indonesian fitness expert died when the barbell he was attempting to lift broke and fell on his neck. He suffered from a broken cervical bone and a number of his vital nerves which were connected to his heart and lungs also got crushed. He underwent a surgical process but could not survive and breathed his last on the Operation Table.
The health expert was working out at the Paradise Gym in Bali and he was trying a squat press when the barbell fell on his shoulders.

In the viral Justyn Vicky accident video on twitter, and reddit, it can be seen that the fitness influencer was unable to stand after the squat process and fell back into a sitting position and the barbell fell on the back of his neck. His spotter who was in a position to help him also fell along with the fitness expert. The fitness expert was attempting to lift 210 kg when the accident happened.

Could The Accident Have Been Prevented?
Justyn Vicky’s accident was tragic and could have been prevented if adequate security measures had been in place which included more than two spotters who usually restrain the barbell if any such accident happens.
Tributes Pour In For the Fitness Influencer
Tributes are pouring in for the deceased fitness influencer and the Paradise Gym where Justyn Vicky was working out in an Instagram post said that he was a big source of inspiration for other bodybuilders and called him an inspiration of motivation, enthusiasm, and steadfastness support.
