Case filed against Bihar ACS, Education, Pathak for abusing teachers

A case has been filed against Additional Chief Secretary, Education, K.K. Pathak for allegedly abusing teachers in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur. Senior lawyer Vinod Kumar filed the case in the local court, and the next hearing is set for March 4. Pathak’s controversial statements have sparked outrage, leading to the issue being raised in the Bihar Legislative Council.

According to senior lawyer Vinod Kumar, “K.K. Pathak had used abusive language against teachers a few days ago. It was highly objectionable and condemnable. My wife is a teacher and the sentiments of lakhs of teachers like her have been hurt by the abusive words of KK Pathak a few days ago. Hence, I filed a case against him under Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC in the CJM court on Thursday.”

Pathak had made controversial statements, including that schools should operate between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on every working day and teachers have to participate in sanitation work before classes. This has led to outrage among teachers and sparked the filing of a case against him.

The issue has gained traction in the Bihar Legislative Council, with leaders of the Mahagathbandhan making it an issue in both houses of the assembly. During the question hour in Bihar Legislative Council on Thursday, Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary condemned Pathak’s behavior, stating that “no one has the right to abuse and the state government condemns such behavior.”

The case against K.K. Pathak highlights the growing unrest and outrage among teachers in Bihar over his controversial statements. The next hearing on the matter is set for March 4, and it remains to be seen how the case will unfold in the coming days.
