National Shooting: Anish Bhanwala makes it two out of two in trials

Anish Bhanwala from Haryana won the men’s 25m Rapid-Fire Pistol T4 trial at the national rifle/pistol selection trials in Bhopal. He secured 35 hits out of 40 in the final, maintaining his top position. Paris quota holder Arjun Babuta also triumphed in the men’s 10m Air Rifle T3 trial.

In a remarkable display of shooting skills, Arjun matched Divyansh Singh Panwar’s world record score in the final. Ayushi Podder from Railways emerged victorious in the women’s 50m Rifle 3-Positions (3P) event, despite starting from the seventh position in the qualification round. Manini Kaushik of Rajasthan topped the qualification round with a score of 586.

The intensity of competition was evident as Paris quota holders continued to dominate the trials. Vijayveer Sidhu secured the third position in the men’s 25m Rapid-Fire Pistol T4 trial, while Navy’s Kiran Ankush Jadhav finished second in the men’s 10m Air Rifle T3 trial. The shooters showcased world-class talent, setting high standards for the upcoming events.

The trials at the M.P. State Shooting academy witnessed fierce competition among talented shooters from different states. The participants showcased their determination and skills, aiming to secure a spot in the national team. The successful performances of Anish Bhanwala, Arjun Babuta, and Ayushi Podder highlight the bright future of Indian shooting on the international stage.
