Report: India is an attractive destination for Dutch firms looking to invest in semiconductors

New Delhi, March 5 (IANS) – A new report highlights the immense opportunities for Dutch companies in India’s semiconductor industry. The report titled ‘Indo-Dutch Semiconductor Opportunities’ was launched by the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and the Netherlands Innovation Network.

According to the report, India’s electronics and semiconductor sector is experiencing significant growth, particularly in design and product consumption. The government’s policies and incentives are attracting investments in semiconductor manufacturing, creating a conducive environment for collaboration between India and the Netherlands.

Marisa Gerards, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, Nepal, and Bhutan, emphasized the importance of technological innovation in addressing complex challenges and promoting progress and prosperity for all. India aims to produce 85,000 semiconductor professionals within the next five years.

The report also highlights potential academic exchange programs to promote knowledge sharing and skill development through student exchanges. It explores the Indian government’s policy framework to facilitate collaborations and create a positive impact on the world.

Sanjay Gupta, Chairperson of IESA, expressed hopes that the report will inspire greater cooperation and exchange between India and the Netherlands. Ashok Chandak, President of IESA, noted that the report identifies potential areas of opportunities in various sectors, including industry, academics, research, and technology transfers.

The report serves as a roadmap for collaborative efforts in the semiconductor industry, aiming to leverage the strengths and capabilities of both nations for mutual benefit. It envisions a future where India and the Netherlands work together to create innovative solutions and drive advancements in the semiconductor sector.
