BJP leader fatally shot in Jaunpur, UP

Jaunpur, March 7 (IANS) – Pramod Yadav, a BJP leader, was shot and killed in broad daylight in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district on Thursday. The assailants, who arrived on motorcycles under the guise of delivering a wedding invitation, fired three shots at Yadav before fleeing the scene.

The incident took place in Bodhapur village, located in the Sikrara police station area, where Pramod Yadav resided. Despite being rushed to the district hospital, Yadav succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma has confirmed that a team has been deployed to apprehend the suspects. Pramod Yadav, who had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly elections from the Malhani seat in 2012, leaves behind a legacy of political involvement in the region.

Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack and have expressed urgency in uncovering further details surrounding this tragic event. More information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
