PM Modi inaugurates and lays foundation stones for 112 National Highway projects valued at Rs 1 lakh crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Dwarka Expressway and 112 National Highway Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 112 National Highway projects worth about Rs one lakh crore across the country from Gurugram. The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram.

The 18.9 km Gurugram segment of the expressway was completed last year, while the remaining 10 km within Delhi is expected to be completed in a few months. The expressway will connect key areas such as Pataudi Road, Harsaru, Farrukhnagar, and Sector 88(B), improving connectivity for the Gurugram residents.

The Dwarka Expressway, also known as the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR), is the country’s first elevated urban expressway connecting Delhi with Gurugram. It is anticipated to reduce travel time between the two cities and promote development in the newly-developed sectors.

The expressway will also link Sectors 83, 84, 88, 99, and 113 in Gurugram with Dwarka Sector 21 and the Indira Gandhi International Airport. It will feature a fully automated tolling system and will be equipped with an intelligent transportation system (ITS), toll management system, CCTV cameras, and surveillance mechanisms.

In addition to the Dwarka Expressway, PM Modi also inaugurated various National Highway projects across the country, including the Lucknow Ring Road, Anandapuram Pendurthi – Anakapalli section of NH16, Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21, and many more aimed at boosting socio-economic growth and enhancing job opportunities.

Overall, these projects are expected to significantly contribute to the growth of the National Highway network, promoting trade and commerce across different regions in India.
