Haryana to Take Action Within 100 Minutes for Violating Model Code of Conduct

Chandigarh, March 17 (IANS) Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal announced that action for violating the model code of conduct will be taken within 100 minutes upon receiving complaints. The state, with 1.99 crore voters, recorded a 70% voter turnout in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Anurag Agarwal stated, “In the state there are 264,760 voters aged over 85. Similarly, there are 11,028 voters over 100 years old, and 41 voters over 120 years old. Arrangements will be made for voters to choose between voting at polling stations and from their homes.” The number of service voters is 108,572.

The election schedule includes the notification issued on April 29, nominations accepted until May 6, scrutiny on May 7, and voting on May 25 with counting on June 4. The entire process will be completed before June 6, with 19,812 polling stations in the state.

Anurag Agarwal mentioned that 15 companies of central armed police forces have arrived, with a request for 200 more from the Home Ministry. Additionally, Haryana Police and home guard personnel will be deployed during the elections. The recruitment processes by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission and the Haryana Public Service Commission will adhere to the election guidelines.
