Sandeep Warrier to replace Shami; MI includes Maphaka in squad for injured Madushanka

In a recent development in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Gujarat Titans have named Sandeep Warrier as the replacement for the injured Mohd Shami while Mumbai Indians have added Kwena Maphaka to their squad in place of Dilshan Madushanka.

Mohd Shami, the experienced Indian pacer, underwent surgery for his right heel problem and is currently in recovery. Sandeep Warrier, with 5 IPL matches under his belt, will join Gujarat Titans for his base price of INR 50 lakh.

On the other hand, Dilshan Madushanka was ruled out of IPL 2024 due to an injury, leading Mumbai Indians to bring in Kwena Maphaka as his replacement. Maphaka, a left-arm pacer, impressed during the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup and was even named the Player of the Tournament.

Both Sandeep Warrier and Kwena Maphaka are set to make an impact in the upcoming IPL season with their skills and talent on the field. Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians will be looking forward to their contributions as they aim for success in the tournament.
