Ukrainian Foreign Minister visits India to enhance discussions between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelenskyy

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited New Delhi to strengthen ties with India following discussions between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelenskyy. Kuleba’s two-day official visit aimed at reinvigorating the bilateral cooperation, focusing on the Peace Formula dialogue.

During his visit, Kuleba met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Deputy National Security Adviser Vikram Misri to discuss various aspects of the partnership and cooperation on regional and global issues. The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the importance of Ukrainian-Indian cooperation.

Prime Minister Modi recently engaged with Presidents Zelenskyy and Putin over the telephone, emphasizing India’s support for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. Modi reiterated India’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine, which was appreciated by President Zelenskyy.

The high-level visit by Kuleba marked the first by a Ukrainian leader since the hostilities with Russia began in 2022. The discussions between the leaders of Ukraine and India focused on strengthening ties and promoting peace initiatives, highlighting the significance of bilateral relations.

As Kuleba’s visit concluded, the Ministry of External Affairs reiterated India’s support for peace in the region and commitment to assisting in any way possible. The dialogue between the leaders of both countries reflected a mutual desire to enhance cooperation and contribute to resolving conflicts peacefully.
