Panel of five doctors to conduct post-mortem of Mukhtar Ansari in Uttar Pradesh

The post-mortem of the late Mukhtar Ansari, a gangster-turned-politician, will be conducted by five doctors in Banda, Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning. Mukhtar passed away due to a cardiac arrest. His family will be present during the procedure, which will be videographed.

Mukhtar’s younger son, Umar Ansari, expressed the family’s wish for the autopsy to take place in another district. A parole application will also be filed for Abbas Ansari, Mukhtar’s elder son, currently in Kasganj jail, to attend the burial in Kalibagh graveyard in Mahmoodabad, Ghazipur.

Police deployment has been arranged at the burial site with officers in civil uniform present. Social media activity and local intelligence units are monitored following speculations of Mukhtar’s wife, Afsha Ansari, who is on the run, potentially attending the final rites in Ghazipur.
