Reports indicate that Mustafizur is expected to sit out of CSK’s match against SRH on Friday

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to miss the upcoming Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match in IPL 2024 as he returns to his home country for US Visa processing for the T20 World Cup 2024. The T20 World Cup starting on June 1 closely follows the IPL final on May 26 in Chennai.

Mustafizur is expected to miss the CSK match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and will return on Sunday or Monday depending on his passport retrieval, as stated in a Cricbuzz report. BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed Mustafizur’s travel for visa purposes in an upcoming T20 World Cup preparation.

Having secured seven wickets across three games, Mustafizur has been a key player in CSK’s bowling line-up, leading the purple cap list. Despite his valuable contributions, he is expected to leave IPL by the end of April to join the national side for the T20I series against Zimbabwe starting on May 3. CSK is currently placed third on the points table with two wins in three games.
